Mission to Costa Rica
For the 2014 Mission, NLF traveled to Costa Rica June 24-30. The NLF team was comprised
of 47 members including semester students, college students, and adult leaders.
The time in Costa Rica was filled with concerts and Vaction Bible School
(VBS). Lodging facilities were very nice and the
food was exellent. Our team learned about a culture very different from our own and shared God's
grace through music and VBS.
Outreach Concert
The 2014 Spring semester culminated in a Summer Outreach Concert. The concert
was held for the homeless on June 21 at Franklin Square Park in Washington, DC.
All Spring semester orchestras and the choir performed.
Spring Semester
The 2014 Spring semester consisted of 5 monthly rehearsals followed by an overnight Lockin.
Lockin is a sleepover retreat consisting of rehearsal, evening worship, fellowship, fun, and more
rehearsal. Lockin provides the final tune-up for the Outreach concert.
May Korea Camp
NLF conductors traveled to South Korea in May and held a 3-Day music camp for our Korea team.
The sleepover camp was attended by 30 aspiring musicians. The camp consisted of
instruction, practice, rehearsals, and performance. This camp was made possible due
to the generous gifts from our donor community.
